KIP in clinics

Hanscarl Leuner discovered the power and possibilities of imaginative psychotherapy during his work at the Psychiatric University Hospital in Göttingen. Katathym Imaginative Psychotherapy was developed on inpatients and proved its worth as a short-term therapy in an inpatient context. Subsequently, the focus of application shifted to the outpatient sector, but the method is still very suitable for inpatient care. KIP is an integrative method that can be integrated very well into an inpatient concept through a balanced combination of conflict managing and stabilising elements. KIP is currently used in psychotherapeutic departments of psychiatric hospitals, in psychosomatic clinics and in psychosomatic rehabilitation clinics. Each clinic can utilise KIP according to its care mandate, and various group therapy concepts have been developed in addition to individual therapy. Some of the clinics have made their concepts available on our homepage.

Seminars on KIP in the clinic are offered on an ongoing basis at our central training seminars and can also be organised on site on request.
